CLASS 5A

Running back Adam Taylor and defenisve lineman Matt Dimon who led Katy to a state championship were named as the "Offensive Player of the Year" and "Defensive Player of the Year" for the Class 5A All-State teams.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Taylor, who signed with Nebraska, rushed for 2,755 yards with 44 touchdowns, both school records. He had 276 yards and five touchdowns in the Division II state title game against Cedar Hill.The 6-3, 250-pound Dimon, who signed with Oklahoma, had 29 tackles for losses and 53 quarterback pressures.

CLASS 4A

Denton Guyer quarterback Jerrod Heard was the "Offensive Player of the Year" on the 62nd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writer Association's Class 4A All-State Football Team. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Heard threw for 2,090 yards and 17 touchdowns in leading Guyer to the 4A Division I state title. Heard, who signed with the University of Texas, also rushed for 2,138 yards and 35 touchdowns.

Linemen  Daeshon Hall of Lancaster and Tyus Bowser of Tyler John Tyler shared "Defensive Player of the Year" honors. The 6-6, 230-pound Hall had 24 tackles for losses and 16 sacks, and the 6-3, 230-pound Bowser had 24 sacks and 14 quarterback pressures.

CLASS 3A

Navasota's Kadarius Baker and Stephenville's Tyler Jones shared "Offensive Player of the Year" honors. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Baker threw for 4,411 yards and 55 touchdowns in leading Navasota to the Division II state title and was the first-team quarterback. Jones threw for 4,004 yards and 43 touchdowns, but also rushed for 1,013 yards with 24 touchdowns in leading Stephenville to the Division I state title. Jones made the first team as an athlete.

CLASS 2A

New Boston's Damien Haskins was named "Offensive Player of the Year" and Cameron's Somari Wright was named "Defensive Player of the Year."

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Haskins, who signed with Oregon State,  rushed for 3,207 yards and 52 touchdowns. The 6-1, 204-pound Wright led 15-0 Cameron to the Division I state title. The junior linebacker had 235 tackles with 15 quarterback pressures.

CLASS 1A

Stamford's Hagen Hutchinson was named "Offensive Player of the Year" and Munday's Dee Paul was named "Defensive Player of the Year." Both led their teams to state championships.

The 184-pound senior Quarterback passed for 3,038 yards with 45 touchdowns for the Division I state champs.  Paul, the 165-pound senior defensive back, had eight interceptions with four defensive touchdowns for the Division II state champs. Paul, who also played quarterback, made the first team as an athlete after throwing for 1,579 yards and rushing for 1,960, accounting for 55 touchdowns.
