2024 All-State Volleyball Teams

CLASS 6A

Player of the Year: Samara Coleman, Grand Oaks
Coach of the Year: Morgan Rogers, Grand Oaks

Outside hitter Samara Coleman of state champion Conroe Grand Oaks was the player of the year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 6A All-State volleyball team.

The 6-foot senior had 693 kills, 336 digs, 47 blocks, and 51 aces to lead Grand Oaks to the 6A Division I state title, the second consecutive championship for Grand Oaks. Coleman was also the 6A player of the year in 2023.

Corpus Christi Flour Bluff middle blocker Margaret Croft was the Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 5A All-State volleyball team.

The 5-foot-11 Croft had 707 kills, 466 digs, 120 blocks and 91 aces in leading 38-12 CC Bluff to the Class 5A Division II state title in the program’s first state tournament appearance. The SMU signee had 28 kills, 20 digs and seven blocks in the Hornets’ five-set victory over McKinney North in the state championship match.

Wimberley outside hitter Laney Hennessee was the Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 4A All-State volleyball team.

The 6-foot Hennessee had 515 kills, 299 digs, 62 aces and 43 blocks in leading 42-3 Wimberley to the Class 4A Division II state title that was the program’s seven title. The Alabama signee had 18 kills and 15 digs in the Texans’ five-set victory over Canyon Randall for the state championship and she was the game’s MVP.

Stockdale outside hitter Leann Wise was the Player of the Year on the Class 3A all-state volleyball team. The 6-foot-1 Wise had 868 kills, including 47 in a 29-27, 23-35, 25-21, 25-21 victory over Boyd to give the 33-12 Lady Brahmas the Class 3A Division II state championship. Wise, who set the record for kills in a state championship match, hit .331 against Boyd. For the season, she had 392 digs and 29 blocks.
