Coach of the Year - Danny Wallace, Flower Mound

Flower Mound pitcher Jacob Gholston and Cypress Woods third baseman Ethan Farris shared Player of the Year honors on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 6A baseball team. Gholston was 12-2 with a 0.96 ERA. The 6-foot-6, 202-pounder struck out 111 in 87 innings in leading the Jaguars to the state title. The senior right-hander, who signed with Oklahoma, was a 17th-round draft choice of the Milwaukee Brewers. The 6-5, 215-pound Farris batted .477 with 11 doubles, 10 homers and 47 runs batted in. He also drafted in the 17th round by Detroit but said on social media he'll attend Texas State.

Magnolia West pitcher Caylon Dygert is Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 5A baseball team. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior right-hander was 14-0 with a 0.47 ERA in leading the Mustangs to a state championship. Dygert, who also played catcher, batted .336 with 20 runs batted in, throwing out nine runners and picking off another.

Sinton catcher Blake Mitchell was the Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 4A baseball team. Mitchell batted .457 with 15 doubles, six homers and 42 runs batted in leading Sinton (37-4) to the state tournament. The LSU signee, who was the eighth overall pick in the MLB Draft by Kansas City, drew 61 walks and had 41 stolen bases. He was the state's two-time Gatorade Player of the Year.

Coach of the Year - Brad McIntire, Boyd

Boyd's Braden McIntire and White Oak's Gavyn Jones shared Player of the Year honors on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 3A baseball team. McIntire, a junior pitcher/shortstop, was 12-1 on the mound with a 0.45 ERA. He also batted .412 with 16 doubles and 34 runs batted in to lead the Yellowjackets to the state title. Jones, a senior pitcher/outfielder, was 10-2 on the mound with a 0.97 ERA. The left-hander struck out 144 in 79 innings. The Texas Tech signee and 18th-round draft pick of the New York Mets also batted .490 with 11 homers and 43 RBIs.

Harleton's Carson Wallace was the Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 2A baseball team. The left-handed pitcher was 12-0 with a 0.35 earned run average in leading the Wildcats to the state title. He struck out 145 in 79.1 innings. The sophomore also batted .459 with 51 runs batted in.

Abbott sophomore shortstop Riley Sustala and Kennard senior pitcher/shortstop Jaden Kulms shared Player of the Year honors in Class A. Sustala batted .461 with 32 RBIs. He also was 2-0 pitching with a 1.62 ERA and two saves in leading the Panthers to the state title. Kulms was 8-3 with a 2.40 ERA, striking out 114 in 70 innings with three no-hitters. He also batted .458 with 35 RBIs for the state semifinalist.
